David Warner prowess on the cricket field is undisputed, but what many may not know is that he’s also a talented actor and dancer. Warner often dazzles his fans with his impressive moves on social media, showcasing a side of himself beyond cricket.
In a recent development, Warner has taken his acting skills to new heights by starring alongside none other than S.S. Rajamouli in a CRED UPI advertisement. Rajamouli, known for directing blockbuster hits like “RRR” and the “Baahubali” series, is one of India’s finest filmmakers. In the CRED ad, Rajamouli directs Warner as he hilariously imitates South Indian actors, creating a video filled with sarcasm and humor.
During his tenure with the SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL, David Warner developed a deep admiration for Telugu movies and culture. This fondness often finds expression in his social media posts, where he shares videos and mashups of himself dancing to Telugu songs. Notably, Warner’s family, including his wife and daughters, have also made appearances in his Instagram videos, further showcasing their appreciation for Telugu culture.

Warner’s admiration for South Indian cinema is evident, particularly his fondness for superstar Allu Arjun. His love for India and its people is well-known, especially after his stint with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, where he led the team to victory in 2016, earning him a special place in the hearts of fans in the southern part of the country. Warner’s association with the SunRisers Hyderabad spanned eight seasons, from 2014 to 2021, during which he served as the captain and led the franchise to their only IPL title in 2016. However, his journey with SRH came to an abrupt end amid disagreements with the management, resulting in an unceremonious departure from the team.
Subsequently, Warner found a new home with the Delhi Capitals, reuniting with the franchise where he made his IPL debut, then known as the Delhi Daredevils. In a twist of fate, Warner assumed the leadership role for DC in the absence of Rishabh Pant during the previous season. Pant’s absence was due to a severe car accident, which forced him to miss the entire IPL season. Despite the challenging circumstances, Warner’s leadership and experience proved invaluable to the Delhi Capitals.
Currently, Warner is showcasing his cricketing skills in the IPL 2024 season as a key player for the Delhi Capitals, where he continues to excel at the top of the batting order. Although he has retired from Test and ODI cricket, Warner is expected to represent Australia in the upcoming T20 World Cup after the IPL.
As Warner transitions from the cricket pitch to the silver screen, his collaboration with Rajamouli has added a new dimension to his career, showcasing his versatility and charisma beyond the boundaries of sport. With his infectious energy and Rajamouli’s visionary direction, this partnership promises to entertain audiences both on and off the field.
