In recent times, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has faced box office struggles. At the trailer launch event of his upcoming movie, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” Akshay candidly addressed the lukewarm response to his recent films, such as “Selfiee” and “Mission Raniganj.”
Expressing his dedication to delivering successful films, Akshay acknowledged that while he puts in his best efforts, the fate of his movies ultimately lies beyond his control. He emphasized his willingness to explore diverse genres, stating, “We keep on trying for every type of film. I don’t stick to one kind of genre. I keep on jumping from one genre to another, whether there is success or no success, that’s how I have always worked.”
Continuing, Akshay highlighted his commitment to versatility, refusing to be pigeonholed into a specific genre simply because it’s trending. He stressed, “I will always keep on doing different kinds of work. I won’t be sticking to one kind of thing just because people say, ‘sir, aaj kal comedy and action bohot chal rahe hai (I am told comedy and action is working these days)’. It doesn’t mean I should only do action.”
Reflecting on his journey, Akshay shared a pivotal moment from his past when he faced 16 consecutive flops. Despite Akshay Kumar’s box office struggles, he remained resilient and continued to persevere. He stated, “It is not that I have not seen (this phase before), there was a time when I had 16 consecutive flops in my career. But I stood there and kept on doing work and I’ll still do that.”
Looking ahead with optimism, Akshay expressed confidence in his latest project, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” and the collective effort invested in its success. He remarked, “This is one film this year for which we all have done lots of hard work and now we are going to see the results. We hope this is going to bring good luck to all of us.”
